This document provides the figures for the Congressionally-appropriated funds (known as ONPS, or Operation of the National Park System Funds) for each unit of the national park system, as well as the number of FTEs (full-time equivalents) funded by the ONPS funding, for the years from FY2000 up through 2021.
It should be noted that, for many park units, there are additional funds from other sources that are used to operate and maintain them. This includes funds through the sale of recreational passes, amenity fees, concession and Commercial Use Authorization permits, wildfire preparation funding, philanthropic donations, etc. These additional funding streams often support daily operations and personnel expenses over and above ONPS funding. So the figures provided in this document may not represent the total operating budget of each unit.
